The Science of Hockey - Use this for one of your force and motion research labs. Explains the science behind hockey.

Grade 5 Science Links - Great Teacher resourse that lists websites for almost all the grade 5 science units.

Average Temperatures and Rainfall for Saskatchewan - Use this website for PAA - IP - if you are having trouble finding the average weather patterns for your area. You will probably not find your park but should find a town or city that is close to it. Use the closest town - the weather won't be much different in your park.
Creating Web Pages Using Google - This is an online 'How-To' that we will use as we create our Web Pages. The nice thing about using Google is that you can work on your page from any computer-even at home - if you have the internet. If you still have a question that is not answered here - do a Google search or look in the help section of the Google PageCreator and you will find the answer.
Multiple Intelligences Survey - Find out what kind of learner you are and what areas your strengths are in. What areas could you work on?
PAA Ten Photo Tips part 1 - Read through these ideas and take jot notes in your own words for each section to prepare you to take your own digital masterpieces. You may not print more than 1 page.
PAA Ten Photo Tips part 2 - Then read through this top ten list and add up to another page of information to use as you work through your pictures. You need all the headings and your own wording.
Photofiltre Tutorials - Click on the various tutorials to help you understand the basics of Photofiltre. In each are instructions on creating various visual effects. This is where you get creative and show me your tru capabilities with your own pictures.

Math World - A math geek's paradise. Anything and everything you need to know about all math subjects - the catch is that it is written at a very, very high level.
NCTM Weblinks - Math Activites by strand from the National Council of Math Teachers.
On-line Math Activities - A complete list of games and activities on-line ranging from basic math facts to prealgebra. Great place to practice your skills in a fun way.
Online Manipulatives - Geoboards, coordinate planes, and activities for the kids to try.
Shapes Explorer - Shapes on a grid that allows you to explore relationships between Area and Perimeter. Interactive, keeps score and allows you to try harder levels.

Science

Awesome Heat Unit - Has a two week unit on Temp including temp conversions, conductors and so on. Great for notes and problems but light on experiments. Super slow to load?
Climate Change Game - Students can log in to play games and answer questions to win prizes. Key Code Required.
EdHeads Science - Macromedia site that allows students to explore simple machines, weather, and forces. Allows students to print off their scores.
Grade 5 Heat Webquest - Everything you need to know about heat and how this form of energy works.
Hotlist on Resources - A teacher generated hotlist with more links to resource based information.
How a Thermometer Works - A full explanation of how liquids expand to make thermometers. Includes instructions on how to make a thermometer. Also explains other types of theremometers
Renewable Resources - A page created by a Saskatoon Catholic School that has user friendly notes, good explanations of renewable and non-renewable resources. Lots of information and links to outside sites (some links dead)
Saskpower generator animations - This is SaskPower's website. On this link you will get to see how power is generated by coal, wind and water. Very cool animations.
Temperature Converter - Plug in the temperature and press a button to convert Celsius to Fahrenheit or Kelvin. Also includes info about heat from animals and what heat is.
Temperature and Heat - Notes describing temp and heat through visuals and kinetic energy. Great to use in the class as notes for the kids.
The Science of Amusement Parks - Use this for one of your force and motion research labs. Explains the science behind rollercoasters.
The Science of Baseball - Use this for one of your force and motion research labs. Explains the science behind baseball. There is other stuff in here that doesn't pertain to the project. Use your time wisely.
The Science of Skateboards - Use this for one of your force and motion research labs. Explains the science behind skatboards.

Canada Songs -
Embassy Webquest - This is a great webquest that asks teams to gather information about various countries. The best part are the links that might help you with your Year Long Project.
Hudson Bay - Fur Trade - Use this website to explore the early heritage of Canada and the relationships between eary settlers and the First Nations
INAC Kids Stop - Explore the important dates in Canada's History, click on the map to find out the meanings of the province's names, and explore the games to learn more information about our First Nations.
Online Atlas of Canada - Use this to complete your Social assignment on the geography of Saskatchewan. This is the student worksheet. Follow the instructions.
Treaty Quest - Learn about the treaties and their importance to all people of Canada through a game format.
Where do you live? - Use this website to find the Longitude and Latitude of your house.
Where/Who am I? - Canadian trivia questions to be used to introduce or conclude a unit on Canada. Students will then create their own trivia questions to be used in class as a final activity.
