Kids Cosmos - This site 'is designed to make science, math, reading and writing fun as well as educational for kids.' It provides activities, lesson plan ideas, news summaries, a nice selection of Web links, and information about the solar system and the universe. Includes a comparison of the geological features of Mars and Washington state. From a nonprofit organization of amateur astronomers in Spokane and eastern Washington.

Science Resources

Cal. Science Center - 'Here's your chance to experience a world of science through awesome online games and hands-on activities you can do at home.' Each of the games is inspired by an exhibit in the Science Center. Game topics include germs, air and space, and animal habitats. 'After you play, follow the links to the exhibit section of the site to learn more.' From the California Science Center, a science museum in Los Angeles.

Fieldtrip

Fieldtrip Guide - Take a field trip without ever leaving the classroom. Each one covers a single topic including deserts, fierce creatures, hurricanes, natural wonders of the world, oceans, salt marshes, sharks, tornadoes, and volcanoes. 'These sites have been arranged in sequential order to build a story for you to follow.' They also include related vocabulary, concepts, and teacher's resources.
