Using Colors To Protray Emotions

• Emotions Using Colors - Students will visit several web sites that will help them identify colors and even let them color pictures on the computer screen using the keyboard. This lesson will familiarize them with using computers and the Internet.

• Emotional Role Playing - Students will gain an understanding of how much of a role emotion plays in art making. The connection between line, color, texture, shape etc. will be explored as students create a painting which expresses a certain emotion or feeling.

Color To Mix Colors

• The Color Wheel - This is a visual teaching method and reinforcement of primary-secondary colors and color mixing. By the end of the lesson, each child will have made their own color wheel by mixing colors of Play Doh. Each child will be able to name the primary and secondary colors.

• Fish Aquarium - The students will make an aquarium for fish out of construction paper they will then count the number of fish in their aquarium. This exercise will help the students recognize colors of their fish.

• Basic Steps in Using Primary Colors - Students are introduced to the basic steps in mixing secondary colors from primary colors of paint. Students will also point out and name the primary and secondary colors. And be able to mix primary colors of paint to create secondary colors of paint.

• Color Mixing - This teaches children a fun way to mix colors.

• Complementary Color Names - Students learn about the color wheel and its importance in the field of art.

• Pass The Paint - To see that objects don't have a set color, our imagination is limitless.

• Ice Cream Colors - This is a great motivational tool as students learn their colors, as well as a nice classroom, bulletin board, or hallway decoration!

• Rainbow Fish - To teach the mixing of primary colors and get the secondary colors.
