In addition to our college guides, which are always on display in the library, the following web sites can help you answer the question, 'What will I do with the rest of my life?'

What kind of a career best suits me? How can I prepare?

Institute for Career Research - What are you going to do with your life? Click the Member's link, then User Name: 1660w Password: future. Start with a Personality Test to determine the careers that suit you, then click on the links to find out how to prepare yourself for the future.
Mapping Your Future - Whether you want college or a career right after high school, this site will help you make plans, select a school and pay the bills.
Occupational Outlook Handbook, 2006-2007 Edition - This site, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Labor, will help you find career information by specific title or within clusters of similar occupations. Take a look.

Which college is best for me?

A2Z Colleges - This site specializes in sorting schools by majors offered.
AnyCollege - Select a major, college type, sport and/or college name -- individually or in combination. After viewing the results, link to any of the colleges that interest you.
College Board College Search - College Search offers two starting points. Use the MatchMaker to find colleges that meet all of your needs or use the QuickFinder to explore a specific school.
CollegeNet - Don't know which college is right for you? Let CollegeNet find your perfect school! Enter the site, then choose College Search, then do a Custom Search. From the resulting list of schools, you can view info including admissions, campus life, academics, financial aid, tuition and fees and link to the school's web page. NOTE: Some colleges provide email links for prospective students wishing to communicate with current college students and administrators. You may be able to accomplish your Primary Source Interviews in this way.

Where can I find magazine and news articles on colleges and careers?

EBSCOHost - Use MAS Ultra or Newspaper Source within this database to find magazine and newspaper articles on a career or college that interests you. If you use this database from home, you'll need the following (case sensitive)info: User ID: Marlboro Password: hslib
Thompson-Gale Databases - Use Custom Newspapers or New York State Newspapers within this database to find information on your college. The password for home use is empirelink.

How can I find helpful books and/or videos on colleges and careers?

IPAC - Marlboro High School Media Center Online Catalog - Use this program to search for books and videos in our library collection.

College and Career Info - This page of links on the MHS Media Center web site will help answer many of your questions -- from careers to colleges, military service, admission tests, financial aid and beyond.

How do I cite my resources?

Son of Citation Machine - Use this program to cite your sources properly. Click the format you need, supply the requested information and it will create a properly written MLA citation that you can copy and paste into your Works Cited page.
