- A wonderful and thorough site that describes all the biomes of the world!
The World's Biomes
- Welcome to the World's Biomes Page. This is an introduction to the major biomes on Earth.
Tour of Biomes
- This site covers the following biomes: Arctic tundra, deciduous forest, desert, taiga, tropical rainforest, and the tropical savannah.
Biomes
- The webpages found at this link were developed in 1997 by 9th graders from Thurston High School in Springfield, Oregon.
Introduction to Biomes
- This site may be a little TOO detailed, however, it has wonderful world maps that indicate the location of each biome.
The Biomes on Earth
- Offers a brief description of each biome. ONLY use this site to verify information that you've already gathered.
Aquatic Biomes
- This site offers some information on the aquatic biomes (marine, estuary, and freshwater). It gives a detailed description of the biome, but does not offer much information about the kinds of flora or fauna of this biome.
Grasslands
- This site offers some information about the grasslands. It describes the difference between the 3 types of grasslands. However, it does not offer specific information about the types of plants found there.
Blue Planet Biomes
- This website was created by middle school teachers. It is specifically designed to teach middle school students about biomes of the world.
