Welcome 4th Grade to our class Treasure Hunt! get ready to surf the Internet to find the answers to the questions! Below you will find a list of questions about the California Missions and I want you to answer them by going to the list of Internet sites given. Once you have answered all 10 questions, I challenge you to complete the Big Question Project. Have fun with the hunt and may this exploration allow you to dive into a deeper understanding of when, how and why these missions were built.

  3. Which mission was built first? What year?

  4. What is another name for the chain of missions along El Camino Real?

  5. How long of a timespan did it take to establish all the missions?

The Big Question

I would like each student to draw a map of California and locate and label each mission built along the El Camino Real. Please include the year in which each mission was built. Then write a two paragraph essay explaining why the Californai Missions were built, who was appointed to be the President of the Missions and who supports the Missions of California.
