Little Rock 9

Scaffolding for Roles

Cause and Effect Support Page
If this is your first time through, you'll want to read the Background on Cause & Effect before you begin. Then when you're ready, fill in the blanks below to develop your analysis.

  1. What event or topic are you exploring for causes & effects?

(Examples: "Changing ideas about the Little Rock Nine" or "How Integration Strategies work")

  2. On a separate piece of paper, brainstorm a list of all the main events, actions, or relationships related to your topic. Then link all the "converging influences" or the "chain of events" related to it. (Do you want a detailed explanation of this?)

  3. Focus the list to the one main thing that you think best shows how the pieces led up to or cause one another. Type it below. (Do you want that detailed explanation yet?)

The key event or interaction being analyzed

  4. Review your brainstorm list and decide on the 3 most important influences or actions that show how something either happened or was supposed to work. Enter them below. (Do you want that detailed explanation yet?)

    Influence or action #1

    Influence or action #2

    Influence or action #3
