Lesson: Citing Sources - Preparing a Bibliography

Description

The purpose of this discussion is to teach students that they must cite the sources of their information. Students need to understand that they have a responsibility to respect intellectual property rights. They need to understand that they must say what they want to say using their own words, not copying the words of others, and they include with their work a list of all the information sources used. (Older students should follow an established bibliographic form. Younger students may use a modified form, but should still understand that they must credit their sources and identify them in a way that another researcher would be able to find them.)
