Discount Programs and Funding Opportunities Home
Because technology, regulations, and funding opportunities change so quickly, it's helpful to have a reliable source for current information. We present general information about discounts and funding to help schools, libraries, and colleges explore technological possibilities and make informed decisions. We can direct you to sources for free network consulting. We provide specific information about discount programs, such as California Teleconnect Fund (also known as Discounted Advanced Services or DAS) and E-rate. We have a team of Education Advocates that work closely with schools, libraries, and sales teams to make sure that your interests are at the forefront. We also have a small team of E-rate experts who train sales account managers, Education Advocates, and others on e-rate, create materials for our web sites, and serve as the liason on several high level committees.
Education Discounts
| California Teleconnect Fund or Discounted Advanced Services (CTF/DAS) is a program offering 50% discounts to qualified public and private schools, public libraries, Municipal, County Government or Hospital District Owned and Operated Hospitals and Health Clinics, and Community Based Organizations (CBOs). We provide details about AT&T services eligible for discounts, eligibility requirements, and the application process. This program is managed by the California Public Utilities Commission. |
E-rate, officially known as, the Federal Universal Service Fund, makes billions of dollars available to qualified K-12 schools and libraries, and millions available to eligible health care providers for telecommunications services and other items. This website provides links to information such as the application process, technology plans, reimbursement and invoicing, problem resolution, fund status, Service Provider Identification Number (SPIN), Employee Identification Number (EIN) information, etc.

| CALNET: The State of California master contract agreement, called CALNET, allows government agencies, including schools and libraries, to purchase products and services at discounted rates and allows users to bypass the normal bid process. More information can be found at CALNET Extra |
Technology
Our concern is helping you understand the technologies available to you so that you can select those that best fit your needs and your budget. Education Advocates are available in California and in the Southwest (Texas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Arkansas) to provide free workshops, training, and consulting to customers. In addition, our e-rate experts stay current on the latest changes within these programs, understand the best practices for filing, and follow through on all the requirements of the program.
