TAPESTRY Grant

Deadline: January 19, 2005.
Amount of Funding: 50 grants of up to $10,000 each and a minimum of 20 "mini-grants" of $2,500 each are available to K-12 teachers of science.
Goal of Grant: To recognize outstanding science teachers and give students hands-on exposure to science at an early age.
Eligibility: Open to K-12 teachers of science residing in the United States or U.S. territories or possessions. All middle and high school science teachers and elementary teachers who teach some science in the classroom are eligible. "Science teacher" is defined as anyone who spends at least 50% of his/her classroom time teaching science or teaches a minimum of two science classes per day. Elementary teachers who teach science in a self-contained classroom setting or as teaching specialists are eligible.

Amount of Funding: Two types of grants are made: those under $5,000 and those over $5,000
Deadline: For grants under $5,000, there no deadline, grants are accepted throughout the year.
For grants over $5,000, deadlines are either February 1st or August 1st.
Goal of Grant: To enhance science and mathematics education
Eligibility: A 7-12 classroom teacher or a team of teachers at a public or private (non-profit) school.
